Nicholas D. Coyer, 85, of Chinchilla, died on Friday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His widow is the former Judy Otto. The couple would have been married 65 years next week.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Nicholas Coyer. He was a proud United States Marine and, prior to retirement, worked as a driver at UPS for over 35 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snow Church and a member of the Marine Corps League. Nicholas enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Florida.

Also surviving are a son Nicholas and his wife Cheryl of West Side, Scranton; a daughter, Christine Bickauskas of Clarks Summit; a daughter, Denise Coyer of Old Forge; a former son-in-law, Vincent Bickauskas of West Side; a sister, Ann Issabel of Ohio; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Thomas, and Anthony Evans and Alexis Novitski; one great grandchild Elizabella Riley; and his beloved dog, Oscar.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Gachuck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Interment with military honors will follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
